Collision sends at least 7 to hospitals; 3 in critical condition

WASILLA — Seven people were sent to area hospitals as the result of a two-car accident that happened just outside Wasilla late Saturday afternoon. Three are listed in critical condition as of Sunday morning.The accident, which involved an older model Chevy Blazer sports utility vehicle and an older model Plymouth Horizon sedan, was near the intersection of Spring Drive and the Parks Highway, in front of the Meadow Creek Center.The driver of the Blazer is a 15-year-old girl, according to a report issued by Alaska State Troopers. Four passengers were in the vehicle, including 20-year-old Kyle Bissonette, of Wasilla. The other three passengers are juveniles.
Alaska State Troopers on the scene report the Blazer, traveling south on the Parks Highway toward Wasilla, was observed crossing the center line. As the Blazer tried to swerve back into traffic, the vehicle was T-boned by the Plymouth, which was traveling northbound toward Big Lake.Two adults were in the Plymouth. Both were taken from the scene to Mat-Su Regional Medical Center with serious injuries. The driver of the vehicle was 19-year-old Donna Gallant, of Big Lake. Wasilla's Timothy Abell, 44, was the passenger according to the AST report. According to Troopers on scene, Gallant is pregnant.One of the juvenile passengers of the Blazer was medevaced from the scene to Providence Medical Center in Anchorage with critical injuries. Bisonette, the 15-year-old driver and two juvenile passengers were transported to Mat-Su Regional Medical Center. The two juvenile passengers were later transported to Alaska Regional Medical Center and Alaska Native Medical Center, according to AST reports.In addition, AST reports from the scene were that at least one person was ejected from the Blazer as result of the accident.Troopers responded to the scene at about 4:15 p.m. and as of about 6 p.m., AST officials had closed off a 40-yard section of the Parks Highway and were diverting traffic through the parking lot of the Meadow Lakes Center.


Donna is Aaron's cousin. She was 8 months pregnant and lost her baby because of this accident. All because of Kyle's irresponsibility. I know Kyle as well. He's one of my brother's friends. I hope there are some repercussions to his actions, and I hope everything goes alright...
