Weekly Praise and Prayer [Edition 7]

This week is such a WONDERFUL week for praise, and I'm so excited to write this...

Steve [Continue to stay cancer free]
Tommy [Recover from surgery soon]
B [Healthy pregnancy as she enters the end]
C [Hope she feels better]

I'm so happy that I got the news about Steve. We prayed and prayed and the Lord did wonders!
He'll continue getting checked every 4 months just to make sure everything is free and clear. This takes a huge weight off of everyone's shoulders and Steve is happier than ever!

Wonderful world of retail

I know this is a little weird, but I just started laughing so hard after I helped this customer today, but that's a little later.

I have a HUGE beef with this other lady...

So I got to work today and I went to my department and there was a lady that was very angry because her check did not go through. She started going off on one of the cashiers that was helping and she dropped the N bomb. I absolutely hate that word. I think it's the most disgusting word. I gave her this look when I heard that word, and the cashier walked away. She then started to say she was sorry but she has MS and it causes her to lash out like that against black people. HELLO???? Since when did MS make people lash out in a racial way? I got a Co-Manager and the lady began to talk to her. I let the Co-Manager know what was said and everything and she told the lady she was going to have to leave. I swear...sometimes I just want to smack these people!!

On a lighter note, I was coming back from my last break when I was once again walking back to my department and I saw a lady in a wheelchair. I've noticed this lady before because she comes in 5 times a week and wheels herself around the store for a few hours each time. I noticed quite a few months ago, that she has a prostetic leg. As I was walking towards her, I saw her look up, then she looked back down. Then all of a sudden she did something so off the wall....

She takes her prostetic leg off and reaches for something on a shelf!!!
That's right...she took it off and used it to grab something.

I ran up to her and asked if she needed any help and she was very happy that someone came to her rescue. She put on her leg again and I helped her finish shopping. When she left I couldn't help it but laugh my ass off! I know it's horrible, but it was like something off of a comedy show!

It really made my day and it makes me feel a lot better knowing she was laughing her ass off as well when I was helping her. I don't feel so bad...

Feeling like crap

I have a horrible cold that I've been trying to beat for a week now and I'm tired of being sick! On top of that, I have a really bad toothache. Ugh! I just want a break from all of this crap!!

On that, I guess I'm going to go to bed. My work week starts later on and I'm not looking forward to it. I really need a different job...

My first award!

MeMe over at Perfectly Unperfect MeMe was wonderful enough to give me this award. My first award ever!

So, the rules of this award are to tell 10 honest things about yourself, no holds barred, and then award the award to 7 other lucky bloggers.

So here are my 10 things...
1. I am extremely happy with Aaron [even though people talk their smack]
2. I have Polycystic Ovary Syndrome [PCOS] and I hate it.
3. I'm so very angry and still cry over losing Katelynn back in October.
4. I don't trust people easily.
5. It's hard for me to take a compliment.
6. I love heels, but never wear them because I can't walk in them!
7. I'm Christian and I pray daily.
8. Aaron [DH] and I never really dated before we got married. We were friends for quite a few years, I got pregnant, and we fell in love. After I miscarried, he admitted to loving me and couldn't live without me, so he asked me to marry him. That was at the end of October and we were married in December.
9. I don't regret that decision at all.
10. I feel really old.

Ok, now I got that part's the people I tag for this award...

Have I mentioned I love bowling?

Yes it's true! I love bowling even though I'm not very good.
Two years ago, Aaron & I bought our own bowling balls and shoes and used to go to the lanes every weekend, but we sort of fell out of that routine because I work all the time.

Well I had Saturday off so we went bowling and I had a lot of fun.
Don't my bowling shoes rock??
They glow under the neon lights =]]

GIST (Saturday): Being able to spend an evening with my hubby and laughing the whole time ♥

I only had one day off so I'm extremely tired.
My schedule has got to be the worst schedule ever for the job that I do.
I am so tired of my job, but I'm just thankful I have one in this economy until I finish my education. I can't wait till that happens so I can have a job that I actually love.
It's so tiring on me anymore LoL.

GIST (Sunday): Being cool all day at work, and being able to see the sun set

Short update

Work sucked.
Time for bed.

GIST: When the clocked rolled over to 9:00pm

Disappearing act

Ok, my body is doing something weird again.
I thought I started my period, but it disappeared on me!
I still have the cramps though.
I'm hoping I start again. If not, I guess I'll have to take some meds. I'm trying to do this med free with a good diet and exercise.

GIST: Getting off work at 10pm and the sun still shining until I got home.

Cramps, cramps, and more cramps

Now I remember why I really didn't care if I had a period one month or not.
Cramps are killing me!!
I thought I was going to die at work today. I bought some Midol, but that didn't even touch it!

Work sucked like normal, but we were soooo busy and for some reason, the schedule was all whacked out. We only had 4 or 5 cashiers by 5pm and my last break was a hour late and everyone and their mother decided to come in and check out at the same time!

Customer service desk was even worse!
This chick came in with 2 DVD players and wanted to return them both. The owner manual was missing out of one and the serial numbers didn't even match what the box and receipt said. She got really pissed and was cussing me out because she thought I hated my job since I was being rude with her. HA! I'm going through procedure!
People crack me up when they try to work the system.

1 day of work....5 more down to go before I have a day off.
This is going to be a looooong work week.

GIST: Happy @ work. Day went by really fast.

Weekly Praise and Prayers [Edition 5]

Psalms 118:6 (NIRV)
The LORD is with me. I will not be afraid. What can mere men do to me?

So I feel horrible because I'm a day late! I thought I had it set to publish, but I did not.
Oh well!

My sister, Genny, for finding out she is pregnant!
Justin [Finding a job quickly]

Genny [To have a healthy pregnancy]
Steve [Continue fighting cancer]
C [To have a speedy recovery]
April [Her mother died 3 days ago]

Yes! It finally happened. I started my period after 66's going to be horrible, but I'm glad it finally came.
I bought a fertility saliva scope so I can now test every day for ovulation.
I'm hoping with the meds, healthy diet, and exercise I'm now doing, something good will happen this cycle!
Send me some baby dust!~

GIST: Waking up before noon on my day off and not feeling tired!
May 16, 2009

Ron White was awesome!

The show just ended and he was awesome! I'll have pics and video up later when I sleep off some drunkness LoL

Off work!

I just got off work and I'm so happy and excited!
I finally got a weekend off to enjoy with the family. I haven't seen any of my family in months because they always have the weekends off and I'm always working them.

Aaron, Justin, Carrie, and I are going to see Ron White tomorrow night at the Sullivan Arena. It was a birthday present to me (April 18th) and Justin, who's birthday is tomorrow. We got pretty good seats. I'm hoping to get some good pictures.

I'm actually going to be able to hang out and have a few drinks which I have not done in a LONG time.

GIST: Getting off of work after a rainy day and seeing a huge, beautiful rainbow.

As if life couldn't get more complicated

I get something in the mail today from the IRS...
They tell me I owe them an additional $263 for the tax year 2007. That was the first time I actually had my taxes done professionally! Now I have to dig out my papers to see what was done wrong. I'm pissed!!!

This is why I insist that I do my own taxes. I don't know what I was thinking last year. I'll be doing them myself from now on.

GIST (3): Holding my temper at work while a woman was cussing at me and calling me horrible names because something rang up the right price, but was in the wrong area, even though I was willing to do a price change for her.
May 13, 2009

I'm gonna be an aunt again!

So my younger sister called me and she's pregnant!
She found out she was 5 weeks along and her due date is January 9th or something like that.

I'm so happy for her. She was diagnosed with PCOS as well when she was 17 and she's 20 now, so it gives me hope that I can get pregnant again. I've been trying since December after having a miscarriage a few months before that.

I'll have my day. I hope it's soon.

GIST (2): Waking up and literally smelling the flowers. (I planted a bunch yesterday all over my yard and porch)

Starting the Grace in Small Things movement

One of the blogs that I really like reading is from C at Dancing in the Rain.
I was reading one of her posts and it was about Grace in Small Things, or GIST for short.
It's when you write down all the small things that have happened or are happening in your life that you feel are gracing you.

Check it out by clicking the pic below.

My GIST for today: Being able to laugh at something funny.

Happy Mother's Day

Today is probably going to be a little hard for me. This should be my first Mother's Day...if Katelynn were here...

Not a day goes by that I don't think about her.
I still have really bad days, but I'm glad she's up there being taken care of.

Too all mommy's and mommy's of angel babies...HAVE A GREAT MOTHER 'S DAY!

I finally got a gym membership!
I'm so happy.
I got to workout earlier today and it was hell, but I stuck to it. I love the eliptical. Aaron wants me to get a bathing suit so we can go swimming together, but I'm a cow...I don't wanna get in a bathing suit LoL.

So now, I'm feeling a little happier. When I had my other gym membership, I was always happy when I was working out. Now I can get back into my routine again and start losing weight again!

Woman's Challenge

The Woman Challenge - May 10-July 4, 2009 - - Join

May 10th - July 4th 2009 is the Woman's Challenge.

What is the Woman's Challenge, you ask?
It's an 8 week physical activity challenge to better health for women. They say the number 1 killer in women is heart disease. This program encourages women to get at least 2.5 hours of exercise a week just to get a little more healthy.

On the website, you can make your goals, look at your progress, share them with other women, earn awards and make friends along the way.

I joined last year and it helped keep me motivated and I lost 20 lbs in 8 weeks.

I just can't win

So I haven't had a cigarette in over a month. Yay me!

I gained 7 pounds.

Aaron and I are looking at a gym later on today. Hopefully they offer what we need and we get a membership. I am in desperate need of an eliptical.

Wonderful World of Retail 2

Lady comes in wearing a purse, tshirt, and buttons all over saying, "Stop global warming!", "Green is the new black", "Save the ozone!", yet she buys $364 worth of groceries and things and asks for EVERYTHING to be double bagged...

The lady who takes 10 mintues to count change came in today and held up my line to check all of her change for dates on her coins. She only needed 4 cents...

Someone asked me how much cigarettes were. I told them (they are $9.47 here) and they begin to yell at me like I'm the one that priced them. Take it up with the local government people! It's the state that is increasing them. Another one of my favorites is when people assume cigarettes are so high to pay for our store's remodel.

Here in Alaska we have something called a Quest card. It's like a debit card with foodstamps and cash assistance. It really irritates me when people buy cigarettes with the "cash assistance" portion. I'm glad my taxes are going to their cigarette habit. Lord knows I quit because I couldn't afford the habit now that cigarettes are almost 10 bucks, but people on welfare sure can with my tax dollars!

Let's get drunk and go to Walmart!

Work completely sucked today! Not only was it hot as hell AGAIN, but for some reason, today was "Let's get drunk and go to Walmart" day. They were all over the place!

I got to work at 11:30 this morning and my very first customer was a woman in her late 40's and a man. The whole time I was helping them, she was cussing at the man and swaying. I seriously thought she was going to fall over.

As I handed the woman her receipt, she looked at me and told me to (in her words), "Fuck" myself. My reaction was to laugh hysterically. I thought it was so hilarious. I wasn't upset or anything because I was laughing too hard. The other cashiers and some of the other managers were looking at me while they saw the whole thing happen and they figured I was going to jump on the lady and start wringing her neck or something.

So work went on from there. I had my lunch and was clock watching while I was waiting to go home, when a woman came to me and got really close to me asking me where she could buy tobacco. I swear I got a contact drunk from this lady. She REEKED of alcohol and cigarettes. I pointed her into the direction of where the tobacco products are sold, and that's when she started yelling for her child to follow her. Her child couldn't have been more than 4 years old. It's people like this that effing piss me off. I wish there was something I could do for these children.

I need a new job...
