The story of [us]

Today marks the 1st time I ever laid eyes on my husband six years ago.
I used to hang out at my friend's house all the time. I practically lived there.
I would help his parents with odd ball projects around the home, whether it be painting wooden beams for their carport, painting the trim around their house, helping them build their porch, etc.
I would spend the night there on my weekends and my friend and I would watch movies and hang out.

One night we were downstairs watching movies when my friend got a phone call from his cousin. He said we weren't doing anything much and to come over and hang out.
About a half a hour later, Aaron came over my friend introduced us.
I thought he was a really nice guy and we talked for HOURS.
He left and my friend teased me about liking him and blah, blah, blah.

It wasn't until three months later when I saw Aaron again.
He decided to come over to my house because I was throwing a party.
We went the rest of the night ignoring everyone and just talking.
I can't even remember what we were talking about, but I was having a great time.
After that, we saw each other just about every week for the next six months.

When he wasn't at my house, I would drive into Anchorage and visit him at his house.
His mom and dad fell in love with me, and I pretty much had a place in his family.
We continued seeing each other for a few months longer then we fell out of touch.
Life has a way of getting into things. Especially when you live almost a hour away from each other and have a demanding job.
I think four or five months passed, and I was transferred to an Anchorage restaurant to take over the management position there. I was heading out of the store when I got a phone call...it was Aaron.
He asked me what I was doing and I told him I was in Anchorage getting off of work and he invited me over.
He gave me directions to his new apartment, so I headed over there.

Seeing Aaron after four or five months was refreshing.
I didn't realize how much I missed him until we sat in his living room catching up.
We spent the rest of the day and evening together, going out to dinner and still catching up, then I left and drove home.
As soon as I walked into the door, Aaron called me making sure I made it home okay, then asked if I would come out again when I got off work.

After a few months of going back and forth, Aaron asked me if I wanted to move in to his place.
I decided it would be a lot easier on me since I was driving almost 100 miles a day going back and forth to work.
The rest is history...

Living together, saying the first "I Love You", going out on dates, getting pregnant, miscarrying, and the marriage proposal.
It's been a great six years, and looking forward to 100 more.

Craft Porn

I've slowly been adding things to my craft drawer. I finally have the time where I can craft something each week on my days off.
I went to Micheal's the other day because I heard they were having a big dollar sale and needed some small things to complete larger things.
So without further ado...

In this picture:
  • 11 spools of ribbon (each 10 yards)
  • A fairy mini hole punch
  • A sun mini hole punch
  • A foot mini hole punch
  • A dragonfly mini hole punch
  • 3 small Sharpie markers (I attach 1 to my name badge for work to mark the date on wound bandages)
  • 14 - 1 inch sponge brushes (for my Modge Podge!)
You won't believe how much I spent.

A whole whopping $13.95!!!
I know it's nothing huge, but it's a start for my craft drawer.
I started with nothing, but I'm getting quite a collection of things.

I can't wait to start crafting on my next days off!

Female Drama-Llama

I can’t believe how people can be so two-faced. They are nice to you when they are face to face with you, but when it comes to talking behind your back, it’s a free for all!
That’s what I deal with at work and for of course it’s with all of the females.
I don’t know what females’ problems are that they have to always try to out-do each other in everything.
Women can be catty, even down right nasty to each other.
Why is that?

I guess I’m more of a tomboy than I thought.
I can’t stand the whole backstabbing, talking shit behind someone’s back, or anything like that. To me, it’s a waste of time.
What’s even a bigger waste of time is that the women are all on the same team!
We are at work to do our job. Not to out-do each other.
I have one girl that thinks she’s the supervisor and tries to boss everyone around.
Another girl that gathers up all the gossip she can hear then tells other people after she twists the words around a bit.
Another one just lies to all the others period. She doesn’t care if she gets caught or not.
I just can’t it anymore!!!

What happened to teaming up together to accomplish a common goal.
Somehow that got lost.
It’s not just at my place of employment, but I see it everywhere. I see it in a lot of women’s relationships.
What happened that we think we all have to compete against each other?

Not one person is better than another.
We all have our flaws and we all have our exceptions.
What happened to respect? Or dignity?

Do these women not care what they look like to others? Not that you should care what others think about you, but rather the impression you make when you make yourself look like a fool with your childish behavior.

Now I’m not saying “all women” act this way, so don’t send me any hate mail. It’s just the majority.
I think we need to take a step back and learn to respect ourselves and be proud of ourselves for what we can do and what we know and help other women to accomplish the same.
When you see someone down, pick them up.
It’s amazing what a simple smile can do to someone’s crappy day, or lending a listening ear to a stranger that looks like they are having a rough time.

Now I will admit that I used to be one of those women. I used to knock people down all of the time. If I saw someone doing something, I would try to out-do them and boast about it.
It took a strong reality check for me to see my ways.
How could I have been so cruel and disrespectful?

I try to teach others along the way. I’m not perfect and I in no way judge others, but when I try to help other women (the one’s at work particularly) I get knocked down and rumors start flying, words being put in my mouth, and downright lies.
But you know what?
I don’t let it get me down or derail me from making myself a bigger person and not feeding into the energy. I continue to be me and do what I do.
My life is a lot easier and I’m a lot happier.

Randomness

I've been keeping myself busy, so I'll be typing with BULLETS!!!
  • I've been enjoying my three days off.
  • I got to visit a co-worker that I became friends with. She's been on maternity leave so I went over and got to see her beautiful baby and cooked dinner for her older child. I had a blast!
  • I've been staying crafty. Been working on a necklace and earrings.
  • Went shopping for some crafty stuff. Got a bunch of things for under $20. Score!
  • Finally got Breez-E's (my iguana) home set up. Bought the last of decorations, got a new bulb, and more heating pads. He's loving it!
  • I cooked a dinner that I've never tried before and it was delish! (I'll make a blog post with pictures later)
  • I get to go to my father-in-law's shop and make a few things since he has a plasma cutter and lots of metal running around. It's going to be fun!
  • I finally got ALL of my laundry done.
  • I started organizing my apartment. I'm a little slow, but it's getting done!
  • I finally got my niece's pictures printed. I just need to buy a manilla envelope and stick them in the mail.
How has your week been going?
Anything thing exciting?
What small thing have you accomplished that you're happy to have gotten done?

Lessons learned

This past week has been horrendous.
Absolutely horrendous.
It all started last Tuesday when my co-supervisor called me and told me that our boss at the hospital was pissed because he got three complaints about me over the weekend.
The complaints stated that I ignored seven pages from a particular unit.
I would never IGNORE seven pages!
I think the nurses were pissed off at me because I was the only one on the floor to cover the ENTIRE hospital when it came to transporting patients. I was stuck in the Intensive Care Unit pretty much all day because it was maxed out. There were a lot of patients that I had to deal with and I even called the units and said I was the only one on the floor, so I would not be able to do all the pages.
The nurses seemed okay with that.
Well this one particular nurse on our Medical/Oncology unit for some reason hates me. She makes my life a living hell when she's working.
I guess she paged to take a patient to another floor for a procedure, and I was unable to get to it for almost 20 minutes, so she got mad and took the patient herself. Big deal.
When the patient was finished with the procedure, I was paged and I ran to get the patient and take them back to the unit.
I walked to the nurses' station and informed this nurse and she BLEW.UP.ON.ME!
In front of everyone.
She was screaming at me for being lazy and ignoring my pager.
I just looked at her and to be nice, I apologized and reminded her I wasn't ignoring my pager, I was the only one on the floor to deal with the ENTIRE HOSPITAL!
She then called me a lazy bitch, so I just walked away.
If I didn't walk away, I was going to do something I would regret...and probably lose my job over.

So I had a meeting with my boss on the Friday that I went back to work.
I explained to him that I was the only one on the floor and I couldn't answer every page.
I then told him that no one would come in and help, so I had to do what I could do.
He then said he needed to talk to me about something I posted on Facebook.
How the hell did he see my Facebook???!!???

He told me that someone printed out a status I had written on Facebook and gave it to him and told him that he needed to talk to me about because they were concerned.
He said the status had my picture, my name, and something talking about a crack head pregnant girl that was a sister, brother's girlfriend, or such.
I don't recall writing anything such as that on Facebook...Twitter, yes.
Anyway, I told him that what I write on my Facebook is private...at least to the people I don't have added.
I have my Facebook on lock down. No one can see anything unless I add them. I don't even have my work place on there.
He said that he could fire me for what I wrote, but would give me a break since I wasn't doing anything illegal in the status, I just wrote about something illegal.
I was pissed at this point.
Who the FUCK would print something out and show it to my boss to get me fired???

Well after the meeting, I went straight to my laptop (because I take it to work with me) and got on Facebook and deleted the few people I had added on my Facebook from the hospital.
Fuck them.
I don't have time to play this childish shit.
So needless to say, I've learned my lesson.

Don't try to make friends at work and add them to Facebook, because when they get pissed off at you for being too busy to get to their call, they will find SOMETHING to get you for and try to have you fired.

P.S. I went through the statuses on my Facebook all the way back to October 1, 2010 and I couldn't find anything about a crackhead, someone being pregnant, or anything incriminating on my Facebook that I could get fired for.
I think someone photoshoped something together...

In need of some prayer

So much has happened in the past week. I don't even know where to begin.

My sister, J, has been going insane.
She's addicted to whatever medication or drugs she can get her hands on, along with booze, and has been cheating on her boyfriend.
It breaks my heart that she would just toss someone's feelings like that.
Well he called me around 6am and was distraught. He works on the slope up North so I knew something was wrong.
He said he knows something is up with J and he wanted to know the truth. I asked him what was wrong and he told me that there was a lot of money out of his account that she had access to. I couldn't keep it a secret anymore. I know it probably wasn't my place to tell him, but he wasn't going to find out any other way. I knew she was out screwing another guy and spending his money for the hotels, booze, and drugs.
He was absolutely crushed when I told him I knew of the two different guys she was seeing behind his back while he went on his hitch up North.
After he hung up with me, I guess he told his boss that there was a family emergency and he flew back home to confront her and to get his ATM card and truck back from her.

While this was happening, J found out that her boyfriend got wind of her cheating and stealing ways and she started to freak out. She called me and cussed me out and told me she was going to kill me, as well as calling me every name in the book.
I just shrugged her off. She was angry and I wasn't going to add fuel to the fire by firing off at her.
So a few hours later, her boyfriend calls me again and says he's in town and got ahold of J.
He also told me she was pregnant.
My mouth hit the floor.
He asked me if I knew anything about it and I told him I didn't. J and I don't talk. We have an estranged relationship. She only calls me when she needs something and she knows I'm not going to give her money, so she doesn't call me...ever.
So I did the next best thing...I called my other sister, who is J's twin.
I told her how J's boyfriend told me she was pregnant and my sister said that she just found out a few hours ago when J said she took a pregnancy test on Sunday and it came out positive.
Here's the thing...it wouldn't be her boyfriend's baby because he's been up North working for the past couple of weeks.
Her boyfriend will be taking her to get tested today to see if she is in face pregnant or trying really hard not to lose him.

I'm just baffled by this whole situation.
My family is definitely in need of some prayer.
