Six Word Saturday

Going yard sale-ing with the uncle!

Today I will be hitting up 15+ yard sales with Hubster's uncle.
I'm pretty excited.
This is going to be my last weekend off so I better find something good!

National Infertility Awareness Week

I have mixed feelings about this.
I think it's great to bring awareness to infertility because a lot of women (that I've come across in social surroundings or work) don't know about infertility, don't know what PCOS is, or even know what it takes for someone battling infertility to do to try and have a child.
This week, I'll be seeing all the reminders of being an infertile on Twitter and in my Google Reader and I just don't want to deal.

To me,
...makes me feel like a loser.
...makes me an angry person.
...is hurtful.
...is expensive.
...is a huge kick in the uterus.

Many women don't know what infertile women have to go through on a daily basis just to keep from smashing things in their reach.
When I hear a pregnancy announcement, I wants to break something.
When I read a pregnancy announcement, I want to snap my laptop in half.
I then cry in the shower to hide my tears from Hubster.
It's the little release that I get to keep a smile on my face the next day.

I will probably not be reading many blog posts about NIAW. Maybe a few of my regular blog reads.
I will continue with my ranting and picture sharing.
And of course bitching on Twitter. Ha!

Hope all of you Blogarinos are having a great week!
I will be doing my physical therapy, taking Gramma to her doctor appointments, and going to my own doctor appointments.

Easter Sunday: Heaven's Gate, Hell's Flame

This Easter Sunday, I will be going to church with Gramma and Auntie to see a play called Heaven's Gate, Hell's Flame.
I went for the first time two years ago and I loved it. I can't wait to see it again.

Hope all you Blogarinos have a great Easter weekend!

This past weekend has been great!
I've needed this for a really long time.
Friday afternoon, I went to the Valley and picked up my nephew from his mom's house. She gave birth to a baby this weekend, so we took nephew so she could focus on that.
He forced me to go through the car wash (one of his favorite activities) and we went to the store so he could pick out a toy.
Saturday, I took him to Bouncing Bears which is a huge room full of inflatable fun! Nephew had a blast and I had so much fun hanging out with him.

I was able to wear him out for a bit, so he took a great nap afterwards!
While he napped, Hubster, Brother and I got ready for a birthday BBQ. Hubster's aunt, uncle, cousin, and his little cousin came over and hung out for the entire afternoon and evening. We had a lot of fun! I was happy to have them there.

Nephew getting sleepy!
Little cousin cheesin'!

On Sunday, I had to take the nephew back to the Valley so he could meet his new sister. He was taken aback, but was so excited! It was adorable.
I stopped off and saw my sister and niece. We hung out for a little bit where I had a blast with my niece. She's growing so big!

So I would say that my weekend was fantastic!
I'm thankful for my family!!
The ones that talk to me anyway...
Hoping for another great weekend!

Happy Friday Blogarinos!!!

Another birthday come and gone

Well today is my birthday.
It's currently 9:00pm and not one single call from my family wishing me a happy birthday.
It always happens so I don't even know why I cry over it anymore.
Happy birthday to me!!

Physical therapy is kicking my ass!

I've been in physical therapy for two weeks now and it's really kicking my ass.
I do have partial mobility in my knee. I can now bend it at a 90 degree angle, but my extension still needs some work.
I've noticed that my ankle is hurting even more and it's swelling on the side. This is bothering me because I'm afraid I did something to my ankle as well.
Why did the patient have to kick MY ass????
Why couldn't he just sit down like he was supposed to????

Random Tuesday

  • I have physical therapy later this morning. My PT is kicking my ass.
  • Gramma had her appointment with the breast surgeon yesterday afternoon. They made her sit there for a hour and a half before the doctor would even see her, which pisses me off to no end! Then she calls her back there and tells her all that waiting was for nothing because none of her information was faxed over from her lung specialist. Fucking idiots!
  • I find myself getting more and more angry. Little things are starting to piss me off. I'm snapping at little things and that's not me. I hate being angry so much!
  • More pregnancy announcements on Facebook. Oh the joy! Not!!! I'm getting tired of them.
  • My birthday is in six days. I hate birthdays. I never celebrate them because they are too depressing.
That's all I have for now.
I'm just in a funk Blogarinos.

Sunday Praise and Prayer

(2)Praise the LORD, my soul, and forget not all his benefits—(3)who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, (4)who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion
Psalm 103:2-4 (NIV)
As I've mentioned in my last post, Gramma was diagnosed with breast cancer last week. The doctor found it after ordering a CT scan to look at her lungs to see how her lung cancer has progressed.
She had to have a mammogram and a breast ultrasound done, then the radiologist said he wanted to do a biopsy. That was when they saw that it was in fact breast cancer. The good thing is that they caught it early because she's been having mammograms faithfully every year and nothing has shown up until now.
She's going through doctor appointments to see if she can withstand having surgery.
Her choices are a lumpectomy, in which they will take out the lump and surrounding tissues as well as a few lymphnodes to see if has spread. The other is, of course, a full mastectomy of the breast.
We won't know more until Monday when Gramma sees the breast surgeon.
Gramma has always lived by the Bible and is a God-fearing woman. She has many women in a prayer chain as well as family.
I'm asking you dear Blogarinos, if you are the praying type, or know of someone that is a praying type, if you'd pass it along with your prayer chain.
And please pray for my family. We just can't deal with anymore crap! It's exhausting!

Six Word Saturday

Cancer can go kick fucking rocks!

Gramma got her diagnosis from her biopsy last week.
It's breast cancer.
Ductal carcinoma in situ to be exact.
The next stage is to have a lumpectomy of the rather large lump as well as a few lymph nodes to check to see if it has spread.
The good news about this form of breast cancer is that it is Stage 0 and is usually just the lump that is found.
Once the lumpectomy has been done, radiation will begin.
We have an appointment with her lung specialist to see if she can undergo the surgery. With her lung cancer, the risk of anesthesia can cause more problems.
Monday, Gramma will have an appointment with the breast surgeon.
Now it's just a waiting game.

Lord, please give my family a break.

Another addition to the family [video at the end]

Meet Baby Lucas!
Hubster's cousin came up from Juneau to visit with his son. He's seven months old and he hasn't met any of his Anchorage family.
Let me tell you, he is PRECIOUS!

Meeting great gramma for the first time.

Meeting Poppy.

 Cousins meeting.

Happy family!

He was such a delight to have around and so much fun to play with baby!!!
I was sitting on the couch with him and he decided he wanted to talk, so of course I had to grab my phone and record it for Carrie!

Happy Friday my dearest Blogainos!

My Letter to PETA

Dear Ms. Newkirk,
I have been a long supporter of PETA, as well as spay and neuter programs. I’ve done many hours working in an animal shelter rescuing animals of all sorts. I think the work PETA does is fantastic and brings a lot of information and education to the community that we normally would not know if it weren’t for your organization.

With that said, I am appalled at your “Win a Vasectomy” contest you are having in HONOR of National Infertility Awareness Week. I feel as if your organization owes an apology for this insulting and disgusting campaign.

I know infertility is a very silent disease and not many people know about it, so maybe it’s ignorance on your organization’s part, but sterilizing a human being in HONOR of already infertile women and many, already sterile men is just hurtful and ridiculous.

My husband and I have suffered with infertility for more than five years. Our only wish in this world is to become parents, so when we see a contest to win a vasectomy to HONOR us infertile people, it’s a slap in the face.

I believe your organization owe all infertile couples an apology. The statement that was left on your Facebook fan page was nothing close to an apology.
I hope you make your wrong doing into something right.

Hubster turns 31!

April 2nd, Hubster turned 31.
He decided he wanted to have a party.
Not just any party....

Of course I had to hurry up and gather everything to feed a bunch of people because my ass was not about to stand all day with my bum knee and cook for a bunch of drunk people.
So instead, I ran to Costco and bought party sandwiches! I know, I'm lazy...shoot me.

I made cupcakes and a cake, nothing fancy because I didn't know he wanted to have such an extravagant party.
He got up extra early and cleaned the entire apartment (maybe we should have parties more often!) and gave me a list of things he wanted.
We went the night before and got all the ingredients for the jungle juice.

As well as $50 worth of fruit and fruit punch and we let it sit all night long. This is the final product.

It was so delicious!!

The boys kicked back playing XBox 360.

Auntie was surprised when I was taking pictures!

Towards the end of the night, things were getting out of control, but not in a bad way.
Everyone was getting drunk off the jungle juice and the neighbor thought it would be a great idea to make one long straw so everyone would stop getting their hands wet when scooping out the juice.

I introduce, Neighbor Lady, as well as her really long straw.

Of course birthday boy got to try it out first!

All in all, it was a great night with good food and great company.
And yes, EVERYONE woke up with a huge hangover the next day.

Apr 5, 2011

Well Blogarinos, there is someone watching out over me after all!
I do NOT  need surgery.
Phew! I was really worried there for awhile.
I had my MRI on Friday and had to wait AAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLL weekend before the surgeon called me today saying that it's just severely bruised and some softening of the cartilage under the knee cap.
He recommends physical therapy three times a week for four weeks and doing another evaluation to see how my knee is. I should be back to work in a few weeks.
I am there temporarily to make sure everyone is doing their job. There have been a lot of complaints about other team members being bitches and flat out refusing to do their job.
It's pretty sad when employees need a supervisor present to do their effing job. I'm so fed up with all of the immature people working.
We'll see how this goes.

Also, I REALLY need to catch up on my Project 365. I've been taking pictures, but just haven't had the energy to post. I'm getting there though!

Hope everyone is having a happy week!
