You have kicked my ass this past month, but I want to thank you for kicking my ass into gear to become a healthier me.
As I rock out to my music and you change your levels on me, I want to bash in your computer system, but I love that I am....
Life is just wearing me down lately.
I never see Hubster anymore.
I work days and he works nights...and our days off are different.
On my days off, he sleeps the whole day, on the days I work, I see him for about a hour before he has to leave for work, and on his days off, I work and get to spend a hour or two with him before I have to go to bed.
We don't go out and do anything, don't go out for dinner or date nights.
We don't ever get to sleep together so I've lost all snuggle time. If I'm lucky, he's still in bed when I get home so I get a few snuggles before he has to get up and get ready for work.
Our love life...pretty much non-existent.
I know it's not going to last forever. Just until we leave for Minnesota, but it's so hard!
My life is just so repetitive and I have to text Hubster just to tell him how my day went or if I need to talk to him about something.
Pretty bad when you have to Skype on the phone just to see your spouse!!
I can't wait until we turn in our resignation letters and have a whole month together when we travel.
That's what I dream about.
I really miss Hubster.
I've always suffered from the occasional migraine.
I would get two a year. I would spend the whole day in my room with the lights out, no sound, doped up, praying the pain away.
Well now, I'm getting migraines multiple times a month!
These have nothing on the ones I used to get.
These are knock you on your ass hurtful. The type that makes me puke because I'm in so much pain.
I don't know what's wrong.
Maybe I need to go see a doctor.
Nothing in my life has changed, except working out and eating healthy.
Maybe it's the lack of junk I used to shovel in my mouth.
All I know, it has got to give.
I don't know how much more I can handle of this pain.
I survived my first full week of my weight loss challenge!
I feel fan-freaking-tastic...except the huge migraine I have from lack of junk I used to shovel in my mouth.
Thank goodness for a little pain pill from the doctor to help me through it so I can function at work.
I am happy to announce that I have lost 4.2 lbs!!!!!
HOW FREAKING COOL IS THAT!!!
I'm surprised. People can even notice a loss. Co-workers are coming up to me and asking me if I have been working out because it looks like I'm losing weight. I haven't told anyone at work about anything, so of course I'm all smiles.
That pushes me further!
I've been working on the challenges as well and I'm up to 2 reps of 10 lunges before I have to absolutely quit. My knee isn't what it used to be, but I'm taking it slowly.
I'm beginning to go longer and longer on the elliptical.
After the six week circuit, my personal goal is to go up a level on the elliptical.
Baby steps, right?
I'm doing great at logging my calories and my activity thanks to MyFitnessPal.
I highly recommend the app if you would like to log your food.
I've learned to much about my eating habits.
I've learned that I eat entirely WAY TOO MUCH sodium. Um, hello water weight!
Now I'm really watching my intake on things.
I never thought I would ever read labels. It makes me feel good though. Especially knowing what I'm putting in my body.
I'm going to start taking photos of my progress each week. I know I won't get to see a huge difference, but I want to document this journey.
I'm finally ready!!!
***I was in no way compensated for this review. I went to the store and bought it to try myself.***
I went to the store to look for an alternative detergent to clean my gym clothes, as well as Hubster's. No matter how many times I washed the load, I just couldn't get the clothes to smell fresh.
I looked at a bunch of different detergents, but I'm such a creature of habit, I just hated to abandon the laundry detergent I use now.
That's when I found this little gem.
I thought for sure I would have to use this a few times on my gym clothes, but to my surprise, it worked on the first cycle! I tried it a few weeks ago and the clothes I washed are still sitting in my dresser smelling fabulous!
This will definitely be a staple in my laundry room!
Well the goals are up!
I chose to do all four.
Look at me! Going full force.
Anywho, I checked in and the four goals are:
1. In 6 weeks get to 3 sets of 15 doing lunges. I can only do 4 and get tired. I do admit that it is harder to do on my right knee due to the injury I got back in May, but I'm going to try my hardest!
2. Inner Thigh Lift. I have never tried doing these before. They posted a how-to video so I'm going to watch it and try my best. I'll set a goal after trying the first one.
3. Keep a daily food and exercise log. I use an app called MyFitnessPal and I've been keeping good track the past couple of days.
4. Share a healthy recipe with all the nutritional information once a week. I will admit I bought a cookbook awhile back and have been making the dishes and have enjoyed every single one of them. I will definitely be making posts about them as well on my blog.
Day 2 is looking great. Going to hit the gym in a few hours.
I ended up going 31 minutes on the elliptical at 5mph. Sweat my ass off but felt great afterwards!
As I've mentioned before in my last post, I was going to get personal on my blog and share my journey with weight loss.
I think it will be beneficial for me because it'll be accountability for me.
Well I've joined a private group on Facebook with 24 other wonderful ladies.
Today starts with the first 6 week circuit. I haven't seen the post about what the challenges are going to be this week yet (probably later on this morning), but I'm going to share some things with you now.
We are required to take a picture at the beginning of the circuit and again six weeks later at the end before starting the next circuit. We also have to check in every week about our progress and do the challenges. I'm very excited to get started.
So here it is.
My very first full body photo I have taken since high school.
Excuse my scrubs shot. I'm always at work! So I went into the PT gym and used their mirror. Ha!
So here I am. I'm so ashamed of myself for letting myself get this bad. Hopefully in six weeks I'll be able to show a bit slimmer Nikke. I'm really going to stay on track this time. I have goals, yo!
Have a happy Monday Blogarinos!

So I've been carrying a bunch of baggage around with me for the past eight years.
Can you imagine how much that can be?????
Well 2012 is definitely going to be a new year for me.
I am throwing away all the baggage I have been carrying around and starting fresh.
I know everyone makes resolutions each year and of course, majority fails.
That's why I'm going to make short term goals as well as long term.
Short term goals (within three months):
Pay off my truck
Open my Etsy store
Help someone in need
Learn to take a "me" break one day a week
Lose 15 pounds
Go to the gym four days a week
Long term goals (within a year):
Learn to forgive
Continue going to the gym
Lose 50 pounds
Change my eating style
Go to the gym six days a week
Be more positive
I'm really motivated this year to lose the weight. Finally!
I've joined a group on Facebook for motivation, support, and the biggest...accountability!
There are challenges to be completed in each circuit and I'm excited.
I've decided to open up more on my blog about it for the same reasons as joining the group. I've met a lot of great women that can offer the support and motivation and of course accountability! If I say I'm going to do something and I tell someone I'm going to, I always do.
I will be sharing my weight loss journey and *GASP* photos.
As the six week circuits go on, I'll be sharing my experiences for myself (not the other ladies because it is a private group) as well as the before and after photos of each circuit.
The first day of the circuit begins Monday January 9th.
I'm really excited.
I got the workout shoes, some comfy clothes, loaded up my iPhone with some great workout songs and even have a workout buddy three days a week.
If you've made a resolution, or some goals that you'd like to accomplish this year, what is it?
P.S. If you have some great music to share to add to my workout playlist, please share. I'm always looking for some great music to keep me pumped and motivated!
Yes, it's true.
I'm still alive.
The holidays have totally kicked my ass, but I had a lot of fun.
I was able to Skype with my sister so I could see my niece open her gifts I sent to her. She loved them all so I'm really happy.
Hubster loved all of his gifts and I loved all of mine.
I've been working a lot on a few things that I'm doing, so when I get a little closer, I'll share.
Big changes are coming!
I do have news about our Alaska to Minnesota trip...all of our ferry tickets have been bought and hotels confirmed! I'm so excited. It's really happening.
Well Blogarinos, I'm gonna get off of here and do some laundry before I have to go to work.
I'll definitely be updating more now that all of the hectic schedules are gone.
Happy New Year everyone!
Did anyone make any resolutions?
I know I did =]
