Memorial Weekend [Pics!!!]

With Hubster and I leaving in just four short days, I went to get my younger sister and niece to spend the week with me for Memorial weekend.
I haven't been so busy in my entire life!

My niece, sister, me, Hubster, and of course Cosmo.
We went to Flat Top.

Potter's Marsh

My niece got to feed geese and ducks.

Saturday was our going away BBQ.
We had a really good turn out. Went through 60 hamburgers and hotdogs, lots of desserts, lots of laughs, and of course baby snuggles!

My nephew and niece.

Younger twin sisters and Cosmo.

Hubster and my new nephew.

 Dirt cups were a success!

My niece made a new friend.

My brother and his girlfriend.

Hubster and nephew again.

My niece and brother's girlfriend's daughter.

 Uncle C and nephew.

My friend's son.

 Hubster's cousin and her boyfriend.

 Hubster and brother.

 Father-in-law, Poppy, nephew and brother-in-law.

Me and my friend's baby.

After the BBQ, we all went out to a local club and got pretty wasted. It was so much fun. I haven't worn regular clothes in a really long time with all the hours I put in at the hospital. It was nice to dress up and put on makeup!

It was an awesome week!
It was hard saying bye to my sister and niece. They cried the most which got me crying.
My mom couldn't make it to the BBQ because she was up on the slopes working, but we were able to say our goodbyes last Sunday.
Now all I have to do is finish my goodbyes to Hubster's family.
And pack....
I don't think I'll ever be done packing and we leave Friday!!!!!

Bird watching in the 'hood

For some reason, there has been an abundance of seagulls in the neighborhood.
There is a little lake about two miles up the road from me and the ocean is five miles away, but in my water.

Instead, we have neighbors that throw their trash everywhere, so seagulls are sitting pretty.
Now I love Cosmo, but his barking makes me want to punch someone in the face.
He is such a yappy dog!
I've worked on trying to train him, but let's face it...he's six years old, came from an abusive home, and Yorkies are hard to train. I'm just glad he doesn't pee in the house.

So being outside in our wonderful spring weather, Cosmo is on constant watch for anything trying to penetrate the invisible property line of our yard.
I believe the seagulls know this and torture him.

Is that a bird over there??

That bird better not come in my yard...

Oh, a piece of bread on a roof. Just my luck!

 Step away from my bread!

Mom, can I plz haz bird?

What am I going to do with him when we get to Minnesota and he sees squirrels?

Because even dogs need style

That's right.
I got Cosmo a pair of Doggles sunglasses.
He has turned in to quite the sun worshipper, but his eyes water like a faucet and he squints too much.
He likes them and he's so cute!

Date Night

I ended up getting the day off Monday so Hubster got home from his night shift and we spent the day together.
We went shopping for rubber boots, and an outfit for myself when we go out for our going away bash.
We then went to the park and I got some pics of the seagulls before heading to see The Avengers in 3D.
Hubster never goes to the movies so I was happy when he said yes.
I didn't realize how much I've missed Hubster. Him working nights and me working days has really put a cramp in our relationship.
I guess in 6 days we won't have to worry about that when we both resign.

Today is Mother's Day.
Katelynn would be three years old.
It still hurts.
I'm feeling like such a failure.
I just want to crawl into a hole and sleep the day away.
Instead, I get to go to work and listen to every one talk about their plans, their kids, and all the nice things their spouses are doing for them.

Six Word Saturday

I can't wait to see my nephew!

My brother-in-law, his fiancee, and my nephew are coming up in 14 days!!!
We are definitely going to have a full house.
My father-in-law, mother-in-law, and I have been baby proofing the house like crazy.
We're using Cosmo as a tester. If he can't get out or into something...we're good!
I can't wait for the baby snuggles.
I'm just hoping every one behaves themselves while they are here visiting.

Happy Saturday Blogarinos!

Not so good news on the work front

I found out today that the hospital did not renew the contract with the company I work for, so as of June 8th, every one is out of a job.
The good news last day of work is May 21st.
I still feel awful.
So many good workers are going to be out of a job.

The hospital decided to not renew the contract because my boss is a money hungry buttwipe. He wanted even more money when they were already paying too much money. I understand the views from the hospital, but the nurses and doctors are going to be really upset when the Lift Team isn't there to do all the dirty work.

I wish everyone luck!
I'm just glad it was cancelled after my last day.
I need to bank the rest of my paychecks to get down to Minnesota.

Countdown: 10 more days until my last day of work!

Another visit in the valley

My mother-in-law and I drove out to the valley the other day to drop off a couch and kitchen things I didn't need to my sister.
I also wanted to see my niece.
So MiL and I loaded up the old Dodge with all of the stuff and Cosmo of course and drove the 45 minutes to my sister's house.
I've always loved the drive to the valley.
Alaska has the most beautiful scenery ever!
I will definitely miss seeing this while I drive to the store, to work, or visit family.

I can't believe I'm giving up these views in a short amount of time.
Makes me appreciate it even more.

The visit with my sister and niece was fantastic!
She loved all the stuff I gave her.
Cosmo enjoyed my niece's company as well after warming up to her a bit.
It was hilarious listening to her say "Cos-o-mo come 'er" over and over.
He even let her take him for a ride.
He's turning into a spoiled brat I tell ya...

Worst customer service ever!

When I shop around, I like to try to find the best deal and look at the reviews.
I called many places and looked around online for an auto detail shop a few weeks ago.
I saw mixed reviews about each of them, so I decided to go with where I got the best car wash.
I called the company (which I will keep private) and talked to the receptionist.
She told me that for $169, I would get the ultimate spa package for my truck.
It would include a complete wash and wax, a complete interior shampoo, a complete wipe down and protective coat on the interior, side panels and consoles will be wiped, tire rims will be washed, and an engine clean.
She also told me that it would take five hours.
I was ok with that because I wanted a good job and I wanted the seats to be dry! I had a horrible experience last year with a different detailing shop.
So I set up an appointment for 9am.

Hubster called six hours later to see if our truck was ready. The lady on the phone said it wouldn't be done until 5:30pm. We were a little upset with this, but we figured it might have not dried all the way or something.
So at 5:30pm, my mother-in-law drove me over to the shop.

As I was walking up to the window, I saw that my truck was still in the washing bay. I asked the woman at the window why my truck was not done, and she said that I was early and to sit in the lobby and she'll come and get me when the truck was done. I reminded her she said it would be done at 5:30pm. She then said that it only needed to be waxed.

At 6:00pm, I walked back over to the window and asked about my truck. She said that it was finished and she would be glad to close out my ticket.
I paid for the service and waited for the guy to drive my truck around to the front.
As I walked up to it, I noticed that it was nice and shiny.
The man handed me the keys and said that he was off and ready to clock out.
I got into the truck and started down the road.
It wasn't until I looked down to see how fast I was going when I saw the dash.
It hadn't been touched!
I was so upset.
I hurried home and got out of the truck and started going over every thing.

This is what $169 got me...

 Trash still between the seats

 Side panel not cleaned out.

 The middle console never touched.

The glove box not even opened.

 Side door not wiped down.

 Wheels still filthy.

 Dust lines on the back.

Ashtray not touched.

The vents with a layer of dust on them still.

Upper console not touched either.

This company must like to give their paying customers shitty service.
I did call them right away and spoke with the manager.
He told me that he had a feeling the employee didn't do a good job.
I told him I was livid!
He said to bring the truck back in next week and they will do it over again at no charge.
I'm thinking about taking it in first thing in the morning and demanding my money back.
Why would I want them to do a shitty job all over again, and even more...why should I have to wait until next week to get it done right when it should have been done in the first place!
I have appointments to make and things to do.
I can not believe this happened.
